Due to coastal erosion from Hurricane Ike, many Gulf dune walkovers and other coastal structures on Mustang and North Padre Islands have been compromised. Texas Land Commissioner Paterson has allowed emergency repairs of a limited nature by special order; however, a permit is required. Please contact the Nueces County Department of Public Works office at 888-0490 for information about specific permitting options. We will work to expedite the permitting process to repair the storm damage.
